The Formula 3 Euro Series in the media

The Formula 3 Euro Series represents a constant not only for aspiring young drivers alone. The most competitive young-gun series on our planet also has established very well when it comes to the media. Despite increasing international competition, the Formula 3 Euro Series succeeded in consolidating its strong coverage position, in its sixth season, and even extended it in several areas.

In both the electronic media and the print coverage, the series that produced current Formula 1 aces such as World Champion Lewis Hamilton, Nico Rosberg, Timo Glock, Sebastian Vettel and Adrian Sutil as well as successful DTM drivers such as Paul di Resta and Alexandre Prémat, is represented extremely well. This was confirmed by the recently published 2008 season media data.

In Germany, all the races of the 2008 season were covered live – as usual – by Premiere. In addition, the race highlights were broadcasted by ‘Deutsches Sport Fernsehen’ (DSF) and news channel n-tv. Nationwide, the Formula 3 Euro Series coverage time added up to 97 hours. And when it comes to the international coverage, 49 nations broadcasted Formula 3 Euro Series coverage in 53 countries. The technical range of all the stations involved added up to some 588 million households with the coverage time amounting to 1,042 hours. And thanks to the coverage in South Africa, the Formula 3 Euro Series could be followed for the first time by a TV audience on the African continent.

Meanwhile, the print media also continued to extensively report about the Formula 3 Euro Series. Altogether, 2,769 reports with a total print run of 440 million were published. The official Formula 3 Euro Series website, www.f3euroseries.com, achieved a total of 3,448,118 page views, representing a monthly average of 287,343 clicks. Compared to the figures of the previous year (monthly average), this represented an increase of about 44 percent. The ten Formula 3 Euro Series race weekends that were held in Germany, France, Great Britain, Italy, the Netherlands and Spain were attended by a total crowd of 656,000 spectators.
